Byte Back was founded in 1997 by Glenn Stein, a computer professional, to address the digital divide by providing IT training to low-income District residents so that they might obtain jobs that pay a living wage. Fourteen years ago, Byte Back began providing hands-on computer training with the help of volunteer computer professionals. As a result, economically disadvantaged Washingtonians have acquired marketable computer skills and obtained meaningful employment.
